“Emergent Strategy: Shaping Change, Changing Worlds feels like such an intimately important read right now. We are living through such harmful and troubling times as white supremacy and fascist support persists throughout the country, but we can find hope in resistance efforts working toward collective liberation and dismantling systems of oppression.

Emergent Strategy is a book rooted in finding and protecting the hope located in patterns of change and finding ways of better relating with one another. Finding those moments for collaboration as we work to build the futures we want to live in - the transformative and liberating kind of futures. This book so beautifully embraces the interweaving moments of the personal and the political, and provides readers with tools to help facilitate lasting change. Most importantly, it is a book that is intended to be read and explored in community and for the community. So I hope you’ll join me in unlocking our emergent strategies. Pa’lante!” - Chelsey Echevarría

Note: Readers will supply their own books. Buy your copy of Emergent Strategy from Semicolon Chi, a Black-owned Chicago bookshop.

* We encourage BIPOC community members to pay the lowest sliding scale option regardless of economic status. *

About Chelsey Echevarría:

I am a queer mixed race Latina living in Chicago. I am also a new mami to the cutest little bunny rabbit, Nepantla Evangelista Echevarria (LaLa for short). I believe in the power of radical community, story, and creating spaces for dialogue. Latina & Antiracist Feminisms molded me and I ground my personhood and politics in transformative justice practices.  I am a dreamer, a writer, and an avid leopard enthusiast.  I am tired, but also hopeful for revolutionary change.
